3 Nights, 2 Rounds
- 3 Nights Bed and Breakfast at The Westin Algarve Salgados Beach Resort
- 2 Rounds at Salgados, Morgado do Reguengo Golf Course or Alamos
3 Nights, 2 Rounds
Morgado do Reguengo is one of the newer names on the Algarve golf scene, set just north of Portimão with the Monchique mountains rising in the distance. It feels like genuine inland Algarve, with open countryside and a quieter, more rural atmosphere than the busier coastal strips.
Despite its youth, the course already plays with a settled, established feel. A dedicated tree planting programme has seen a great many olive trees take root across the property, and they do more than look the part. They give each hole clearer shape from the tee, help separate the fairways and give you a definite line to commit to as the layout winds through the landscape.
With the mountains behind you for much of the round, the views are a real bonus, especially on the more open stretches. It is a course that lets you enjoy the scenery as much as the scorecard, which makes it a great fit for mixed-ability groups.
If you are based around Portimão, Morgado is an easy addition to the rota. Spend the morning on the beach or in town, then switch it up with a relaxed round away from the resort buzz. It also makes a smart change of scenery if you are building a multi-course trip around better known coastal layouts.
Who is this for?
Mixed-ability groups, couples, friends' trips and societies looking for a scenic, relaxed Algarve round with real character, away from the crowds.
Who is it best for?
Golfers who enjoy countryside golf with mountain views and olive-lined holes, and anyone staying near Portimão who wants an inland alternative to the Algarve's more familiar names.

As with most new resort courses, Morgado do Reguengo has been built with a number of different tees; although it measures a chunky 7,300 yards from the tips, there is a distance to suit every golfer. So fear not, the course is there for every visitor to the Algarve, and has been already established a good reputation in its short years.
Despite the course appearing quite open on first viewing, the natural undulations and strategically placed bunkers make the layout very enjoyable. It is spread out over many acres of countryside making it the perfect place to relax and focus on your game.
Signature Hole: Hole 18, Par 4, 333 yards, SI 9
The 18th is a fantastic finishing hole, with an elevated tee overlooking a wavy fairway and the clubhouse in the distance. A great way to end your round.

A slight step up from the Alamos course, and some interesting holes, generous fairways and good greens.

For some reason my handicap dropped 2 shots here which I can’t understand as the course definitely wasn’t easy. Greens were superb. Quite dry in a lot of the fairway areas.

Enjoyed again but five hour round. There are players who not only were poor players but incredibly slow. Need to be aware they are not the only ones on the course, and the rules limit the search for lost balls to three minutes. We had to ask the court marshall to go forward and find the group causing the long long wait on each tee and fairway.
