Ombria Golf Course

The 18 hole, Par 71 signature course was designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, who followed a sustainable vision to complement and enhance the natural landscape.

The two 9-hole loops are set in different terrain with the front nine playing out at the foot of sweeping hillside banks, golfers will find the opening holes an easy walk with contoured greens and undulating fairways.

The back nine starts with a breath-taking panorama of the course spread throughout an idyllic river valley. Playing along the twisting rivers and streams, golfers must decide when to cross or when to gamble and when to play safe.

A very unusual but nevertheless enjoyable golf course. The course designer has made the very most of this very hilly site. It is obvious why the use of a buggy is essential as climbing up and down to a number of the very elevated tees would be near impossible for the majority of golfers . The front nine is by far the most spectacular part of the course with the back nine being a bit more traditional . The condition of the course was excellent, perhaps the best of the three that we played on our trip. Good course but not sure that in the long term it’s location will count against it.

First time playing Ombria and it was the course we were most looming forward to playing. This is in my top 3 courses I have played anywhere in the world. The only downside is there is no driving range.

Incredible views and set up a real challenge this a course to plot your way round not just boom drivers everywhere. Set in the hills the views everywhere are incredible loads of elevation and water everywhere. Staff and facilities first class definitely the favourite for most of our group

The upkeep of the course was lovely. The downside is that there are 2-3 holes on the front nine which are squashed together and lead you to think there are better courses on the Algarve. The place doesn’t have a driving range which is also an issue. Overall. 7/10

Simple this must be one of the best kept courses in the area. The facilities were excellent, the staff excellent, the attention to detail excellent. On arrival your clubs are taken to the buggy area for you while you book in. On arrival at the buggy area they are already for yu with your T time detailed on the front , simpy strap your clubs on and go. The course is beautiful the greens excellent and the variety of holes superb. Teeing of from height made for some great shots We will go there again.
