Santa Ponsa is one of Majorca's best-known golf hubs, with two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole layout, so you can keep a mixed-ability group happy without trekking all over the island. You're also well placed for post-round options, with Santa Ponsa, Magalluf and Palma all within easy reach.
The headline act is Santa Ponsa I, designed by Folco Nardi and Jose 'Pepe' Gancedo and a former host of European Tour events. Big names have played here over the years, including Seve Ballesteros, Bernard Langer, Jose Maria Olazabal, Miguel Jimenez and Lee Westwood. It's a proper championship test in places, so bring a plan off the tee and don't expect to switch off on the back nine. The routing demands accuracy and rewards smart course management, with enough movement in the terrain and hazard placement to keep you thinking throughout the round.
If you like to warm up properly, the practice set-up is strong: driving range, chipping area and two putting greens, ideal for a quick tune-up before your tee time or for working on your short game during a longer stay.
All in, Santa Ponsa is a smart pick if you want serious golf by day and a choice of beaches, bars and restaurants once the scorecard's signed. If your group wants a tour-host course on the rota, decent practice areas and somewhere lively for dinner afterwards, this ticks a lot of boxes.
Who is this for?
Golfers who want a Santa Ponsa base with plenty going on off-course, plus a choice of layouts on-site.
Who is it best for?
Groups mixing handicaps who still want at least one proper championship-style round, plus anyone keen to add a European Tour host course to the trip.

Huge expanses of water punctuate Golf Santa Ponsa I, the club's premier layout. The resort-style track would be at home in a Florida development, with lush green fairways and perfect white sand bordering the ever-present aquatic obstacles.
The par-72 course will favour the long-hitters, but those who are consistently accurate will reap the rewards by avoiding trouble. Santa Ponsa's number one course is often chosen to host prominent regional events, and is a sure-fire hit for traveling golfers.

Golf Santa Ponsa II is a tale of two halves. Making your score in the opening two thirds is essential, as the fairways are forgiving and birdie chances are frequent. However, the closing stretch is a test of nerve, as the final 5 holes wind around an enormous lake that repeatedly threatens the fairways and greens.
For the younger ones and beginners, the complex also has a nine-hole academy course known as Golf Santa Ponsa III, which is a great learning ground for picking up the game.
Note: Santa Ponsa II & III are private courses not playable by the public & visitors.

No club house, no pro shop & no running water very disappointing. We should have been told prior to holiday so we could have changed it.

Great course - facilities were low key with a small bar and eating area to eat and drink after a round! Club shop was small but fine.

A lovely open course with long holes. A lot of the par 4’s would have been par 5 back home. Not much of a clubhouse but everyone was very friendly.
