Excellent course, wider fairways than Alto, but still tricky. Fast greens.

Great course! The views and elevation changes throughout make it quite spectacular.

Pretty course with some fun holes.

I played here 7 years ago when the old clubhouse was in use. Nice to see things progressing. The course was ok 7 years ago, but it has developed in to a really great and enjoyable course - is one of my favourites now.

It’s had a lot of money spent on it since I last played it. Only watch out is buggies. It’s very hilly and they don’t book buggies so if you tee off late you might have to walk it which would be incredibly tough.

Another well looked after course and great to play. The newish clubhouse is a bit small but copes fine.

Not in great condition and very poor facilities.

Tight and long course off the tips, with some challenging tees. Not in the best condition at this time of year and found some holes a little meh. Overall a great challenge, but nothing on Vale Da Pinta, Vila Sol or Gramacho. Pleasant round still had though.

This course was probably in the least best condition of all the courses we played but still very enjoyable. Staff and facilities were all first class but again we’d challenge the slope and course ratings as been much to low. They are very difficult courses to play for the mid to high handicapped golfer, who just don’t receive enough strokes.

Golf club house Facilities although new lacked atmosphere. Club house poorly designed whereby wind is an issue and a squeaky door..

Great course. Sadly we played the last 4 holes in torrential rain but can’t blame Silves for that. Changing facilities inadequate.

Poured with rain but still enjoyable. The thing that let’s this course down are players who don’t repair their pitch marks!!

Really nice course

Nice course, but greens were variable, some with weeds and others a bit bobbly. However that didn't detract from an enjoyable day, and the 19th is good. we are all med - high handicap. There is no driving range on site and the putting green is a bit of a joke.

I had played this course before multiple times and that was the worst condition i had seen it in. The greens have tyre marks all over them. The holes on the course itself are enjoyable just not maintained well

Very good course, although we could only get 2 golf carts for a 2 o’clock tee time as you were not available to book them in advance with the course. Halfway hut that sells snacks and beverages was very good also. Actually course was in great condition with some excellent elevated tee boxes and holes over water.

Good course. Lovely club house. Spoilt by lack of practice facilities. One net and tiny poor practise green..really let's course down.

Clubhouse staff aren’t the most friendly

Quite a hard course, not quite sure of the hole with the chimney burning in the background!!,course was very wide.

Lovely pretty course. As we were a 2 ball we were joined by 2 others. Very pleasant round, course is reasonably challenging but not too hard for higher handicaps. Really liked it and greens were good and as we played at 14.00 we were round in well under 4 hours. Not too hilly so fairly easy with a pull trolley.

A lovely course out in the country.Good greens and nice holes with raised tees giving views over the countryside.

The starter (official) ruined what was a good holiday. We arrived as 3 x 3 balls and had the entire trip planned around this. Were told we’d need to play as 1 x 4 ball, 1 x 3 ball and 2 players joining and old couple who we didn’t know. Messed up competition and scoring. The official was rude and wouldn’t even consider other option just quoted t & c’s.

The greens were lightening quick!!

Lovely course - a bit of sand on some of the greens but they still ran true.

Nice rural setting. Much better condition than the other courses. Facilities were basic but OK.

Great course...well laid out and greens were just superb. A little bit slow at one stage but we enjoyed it big time....

Very slow too many people on the course, four balls every 9 minutes yet it tells you when you have to be on the 10th tee which is 2hrs 15 mins from your start time. How is this possible 9 times 9 is 81 minutes less than an hour and a half

Very slow round of golf but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Course was in good condition and the greens rolled nicely.

Great experience. Was quiet the day we played. Quite short par 4s but long par 5s and a variety of par 3s. The 12th hole is a fantastic hole. Plenty of buggies on the day with helpful staff and a nice area to relax after the round. A couple of gouges in the greens that were filled in with fine sand, but didn't impact our enjoyment at all. Really enjoyed this one.

Amazing course in amazing condition.

Favourite of the week for me. Stunning course with some good looking holes. Really nice clubhouse with a few of the 18th.

For second time this week 1315 tee off and again no buggies for any of us, day 4 and hot weather. If you guys know there is a problem with this just tell us there is no buggies then we know or can play another course, this problem will be the same from now until it goes quiet again. Staff have no idea and kept saying some may come in but had no idea once again. I’ve done a lot of Portugal trips and can honestly say the buggies problem is massive just be transparent !!

Again hadn't played here the last twice and as the new club house and layout slightly changed decided to play on recommendation from the boy who has apartment at gramacho. Course dryish due to lack of rain and curb on watering however someone had decided to hollow tine the greens at this time of year!!why nobody good give an answer so not the best

My least favourite of the 4 Pestana courses we played. Unfortunately the greens had recently been hollow tined which did sadly impact our enjoyment. The front 9 was impacted by noxious fumes blowing across the course from a nearby factory. Delayed on every hole, particularly on the back 9.

Nice course. New clubhouse excellent. Practise facilities extremely poor, which really lets the course down, hence the grade. Will play next year and hope better nets and practice area is created.

Course was nice, not too difficult. Greens were let down by lots of unrepaired pitch marks. Bunkers were rather hard. Nice wide fairways and a nice touch this year was the refreshment facilities on course. Lovely new club house overlooking the 18th just let down by poor locker room facilities. Again staff were pleasant and helpful.

Probably the best course we played.

Best out of the 4 courses we played. Liked some of the elevated holes.

Last course to play and challenging which was good as it was the last. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful course, very picturesque. Some long holes, plenty of opportunities to score low if you can hit a long 2nd shot. Great course

Lovely course my only complaint was with the golfers playing as they were so slow

Some very tough holes where you must hit the fairway but quite fair and the greens in good condition albeit not as fast as you would expect. Par 3s were difficult especially the 8th I think it was uphill, into the wind and over 200 yards

The round was spoiled by thick ,pungent yellow smoke from an adjacent cork factory. I would have grave reservations about recommending this course to anyone although the views were spectacular.

We have played Silves on 3 occasions but this was the first time on the new layout, really enjoyed the course. The new club house and the facilities are very good also. 9/10.

Course was lovely. Brand new club house but the ladies changing rooms are already shabby.

Great looking course. I was disappointed with the bunkers as they were hard and little sand in them. Greens and tees were good. Good resort golf, nothing too difficult.

A newer course, which perhaps could have benefited from being tidied up and manicured a little more in places. Nevertheless, an enjoyable course, but spoilt by an incredibly slow 4 ball in-front of us, who was holding everyone up. The lunch was also spoilt as we were prohibited from sitting out on the terrace, due to some function or golf society having priority over all the outdoor seating. Staff were not nearly as friendly as those in the Bar/Restaurant at the Gramacho Course.

Very slow round at one point there was four groups on a par 3 most people considered a ranger should have pushed the very slow groups on Pity as this is a nice course but not sure I will be going back

Course not easy as they tend to be in Europe but very pretty except for the nearby cork factory which, depending on the wind direction can blanket some holes with smoke from the chimneys and make breathing difficult at times. We found it very slow at times but I suppose in Scotland we see 4 hours as a long round. Allow 4 1/2 hours. Starter, reception and clubhouse staff all very friendly and would revisit. Allowed us to play in 2 threes. Could not access on my golfers watch??

Much better than the last time i played there (about 5 years ago) with a new club house. Course in decent condition.

Course was in average condition overall. Greens were pretty good. Unfortunately it was a 5 hour round, nasty.

Nice course but it was a five hour round on several occasions there were three four balls on the tee box at par three's. Members told us that this is often the case. Would put me off playing it again but a fine challenge.

Again the greens could have been better. Played ok but looked rough to the eye. All my party enjoyed this course so must been good. I must mention the golf transfers these guys were brilliant on time to the minuet every time and very helpful loading and unloading clubs each day.

Log course needs a buggy. been redesigned and moved around for new clubhouse. long way from hotel about 45 mins. Taxi was 50 our each way

Enjoyable but expensive for four buggies

The course had an excellent layout but greens where not in the best condition having been hollow tinned recently. Would have rated the facilities more but there was no food offering at all available.

Good place, but lacks a lot of character, it all seems a bit too new. Club house is modern but again, 0 character. Course is nice, great views and nice holes.

Solid second rate golf course by Algarve standards

Some picturesque holes, was popular with the higher handicappers in the group.

Good course

Not sure how much of our money paid for this course but it was worth it. Loved it. The views, the lay out. It was our favourite. Fabulous place to play.

We were paired up with a great couple of guys from Ireland. Had a great round- pace was good and overall condition was fair. A bit wet in parts but there had been a lot of rain over the last few days. Was told there is a brand new clubhouse for next year. Will look forward to visiting then. Nice course and easy to play with pull trolley.

A new clubhouse is under construction which will alter the course layout.

Some beautiful holes. Plays very short off they yellows but very relaxing. Fantastic staff who remembered us from 3 years ago. They even printed off our return boarding passes for us. Buggie recommended for less mobile players.

Good coarse well presented staff are friendly and helpful. Greens ran true and fast tricky to get the pace. Keep it straight and you will play well, start to stray and it gets very tricky

Definately the second best course we played,well designed and some nice difficult holes to keep us sharp.

Another great course in super condition great greens that were very responsive to shots being fired in. Tough long par 3 holes and a mixture of short and long par 4's that required good shots. The par 5 holes were terrific.

I did not like this course very much, mainly because some of the par fives were quite boring, made for the big hitters, in fact there were not many holes that made you think about what you had to do. The greens were very good and well maintained and the staff very friendly throughout.

One thing I would say about this course it is really nice par 3s are quite hard but par 5s are nice and challenging but only bad thing is the way the club pack groups out a few more mins to let a group play ahead a bit further as we had a 4ball and 3 2 balls newrly on the same tee but nice course

Enjoyed the course but the smoke/smell from the cork factory nearby spoilt it a little. Well worth a visit though.

This course was in superb condition.......greens etc were fantastic.....really enjoyed our final day here. Very impressed.

Very enjoyable round toss up between this and Gramacho.

We had reserved 5 buggies with yourgolftravel. Only had 3. Were told they don't take reservations on buggies. My booking clearly shows 5 reserved. Didn't try to help us in any way.

The major issue was there were no buggies for us when we arrived. Buggies were included in our contract with you. The majority of my party are over 60 (4 over 65). It is important that buggies are needed. We were given 5 electric trollies, 5 pull trollies and by the time the last pairing were going out we got 1 buggy. 1 of the electric trollies p Failed to work after 6 holes and had to be pushed for a time. The person gave up after 2 holes and we phoned the clubhouse to have the player collected as he was exhausted in the heat. We will certainly wish to be refunded for the buggies not available I.e 5 x 45 euro which is the cost we paid at the other course.

After the second hole, the views and course opened up and were fantastic!! Our transfers for all three courses and airport were spot on, friendly, helpful staff, can't thank them enough.

Another great course for all golfers , only slight negative was the cork factory next to the course which threw out a lot of smoke which drifted across the course but wouldn’t stop me going again.

Lovely course, great greens but the pace of play was slow. We were 12 ladies walking with electric trollies but were held up by 4 balls in buggies. The course needs some marshals. The club house is tired but the staff were the friendliest. The new clubhouse hopefully will have better facilities and is under construction. Would recommend this course.

Consensus of opinion from 12 of us was we all enjoyed and loved the course. The clubhouse was a bit tatty but I understand they’re building a new clubhouse. Would definitely return there.

Good course and gives golfers of all abilities a chance. Will return!!

what a course to welcome our first day in Portugal. the course was in great condition and some of the holes where breath taking. it was a tough walking course for the first day.

No problems.... some of staff obviously having a bad day !! So nice to see the new signage to the course , makes getting there so much easier

Greens were slow compared to gramacho and pinta..long par 5s and par 3s with some short par 4s we were a bit spoilt playing the other to first..good course tho

Playing it again on 28 December

We will not play here again . We have had mixed experiences on this course mainly pretty negative. Instead of improving it gets worse . There seems to be a problem with drainage on the fairways. Obviously there is a comprehensive watering system due to climate . The problem is most of the fairways remain soggy giving difficult conditions and making the course play very long . They need permanent preferred lies on many holes . There is no Marshalling / supervision on the course. They allow non-golfers on the course making it chronically slow . Whatever happened to min Handicaps.? At one point we were one of 4 x 4 balls on one tee. We came off after 16 holes ,having been on course for 4.75 hours . We ought to have our money back

nice but feel not as good as the others. greens need work and slow round. NO course Marshalls to quicken up play. Again buggy's expensive

Course was good (1st time we played it).. greens better than Pinta. Pestana look like they are spending a lot of money on facilities so when these are finished this will be a really good facility and track... only gripe... 30 degree temp and no on course refreshment buggy
