Held in Mexico, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba is a regular PGA Tour event which attracts some of the biggest stars each year. The event takes place in November, right at the start of the season and when the Mexican climate is perfect for playing and watching golf.
The tournament is hosted at El Camaleon Golf Club and has boasted some extremely exciting golf in previous years and with the support the OHL Classic has and the design of the course, it looks set to continue that way.

About the OHL Classic at Mayakoba
The OHL Classic at Mayakoba was the first PGA Tour event to be held in Mexico and has acted as a platform for the world to see just how good golf in Mexico is.
Before 2013 the tournament had somewhat of a low profile however after 2013 the OHL Classic rewarded an invitation to the Masters for the winner, FedEx Cup points and a purse of 60%, up to $6 million.
As the event takes place in November, many players are looking to get a head start in the FedEx rankings, adding extra importance to the weekend. In recent years, the winners have all gone on to have strong seasons such as Patton Kizzire and Pat Perez.

About El Camaleon Golf Club
El Camaleon is a brilliant venue for this PGA Tour event, boasting a unique layout with surreal surroundings.
The immaculate fairways are often bordered by thick mangroves, stunning lagoons and even a golden beach; these surroundings create a serene yet exciting 18 holes which while breathtaking, are certainly challenging.
Accuracy and course-management are pivotal to any golfer playing this magnificent course, which was of course originally designed by Greg Norman.

The month of November is a fantastic time to visit Mexico, with an average of 9 hours of sunshine a day. The average temperature for Play del Carman is 25 C, with potential highs of 30 C, definitely warm enough to get the shorts on.
Getting There
The closest airport to El Camaleon is Cancun International Airport which is just 40 minutes away. A taxi from the airport to East Lake will cost around $60. There are daily flights to Cancun from London flying with either British Airways or Thomas Cook.
