Riviera Country Club has played host to the Genesis Invitational since 1973 and is often the final stop on the PGA Tours California stint. A happy hunting ground for some of games biggest names, the field is always strong at the Genesis Invitational making it one of the most exciting tournament of the year.
In recent years 2 time Masters champion Bubba Watson has been victorious three times in recent years and world number one Dustin Johnson claimed the title in 2016, it is course that definitely favours the longer hitters.
The tournament itself has one of the year's biggest prize purses of $7,000,000 and it is therefore not surprising that the field consistantly features the world's top golfers.

Measuring in 7,322 yards and only a par 71 plenty of power is needed to negotiate this monster of a course. The course designer George Thomas had 15 possible layouts before settling on the one that now features some of the most iconic holes in golf.
The par 3 6th is iconic for having a single bunker situated in the heart of the green whilst the par 4 10th while is arguably the best driveable par 4 in golf. In 2015 the course played at an average score of 72.592 which made it the hardest par 71 course on the tour between 2014-15 and this was supported by the fact that in the same season it had the lowest number of greens in regulation at 9.25 per round.

Being in the northern Hemisphere, Los Angeles is technically coming out winter in February. However, unlike the icy winters of the UK the temperatures tend to average 21 degrees celsius with very little rain in the air making it a perfect place to get some winter sun. With an average of 9 hours of sunlight a day there is plenty of time to combine watching the golf with playing some too.
Located just 41 minutes from Los Angeles Airport which is 10hr 51 minutes from London Heathrow, you can rest easy on your flight knowing that when you land the golf course is only a short drive away.
