Carved through gently rolling hills just outside Palma, Son Muntaner is a cracking option for a Mallorca golf break, especially if you like a course that looks good and makes you think. The routing uses the natural elevation well, so you'll rarely hit the same shot twice, and there are enough well-placed hazards to keep you honest without it feeling unfair.

As part of the Arabella Golf Resort, it pairs nicely with Son Vida and Son Quint, which is ideal if you're building a few rounds into the trip and want variety without spending half the holiday in a taxi.

In playing style, think modern parkland with a Mediterranean feel. Fairways are generally generous, but the bunkering is neat and the greens can be lively, so it's a course where position matters. Water features come into play on a handful of holes, and if the breeze gets up you'll need to be flexible with club choice. I'd also say it rewards a steady head, particularly as you turn for home.

It's a friendly test for mid-handicappers from the forward and regular tees, but if your group has a couple of single-figure players they can push back a set and get a sterner challenge. Add consistently strong conditioning, solid practice facilities and a smart-but-relaxed clubhouse and you've got a course that fits just about any Mallorca itinerary.

Son Muntaner Golf

The golf course at Son Muntaner was opened in 2000, and was mapped out by the esteemed designer Kurt Rossknecht. From the tips, the championship layout peaks close to 7,000 yards, although there are different tee boxes to suit golfers of varying difficulties.

Our least favourite, course was a little tired and fairways were just ok. Greens were very very slow.

A championship course but greens really poor after maintenance, sometimes a bit of a lottery with bumps and lots of of sand in hollow tines. Disappointing overall which was a shame because it’s a lovely set up.

Superb golf course. Great lay out and fantastic greens. Played long. Too much bloody water LOL 😎😎 Only gripe was my Lyle and Scott round neck golf shirt got questioned. Your company never told us about dress code. Could have been an embarrassing issue. But w got it sorted. Also day one your paperwork said 11.07 T time. It turned out to be 11.47. Not good really. Only small issues but it’s these small issues that make all the difference. Overall tho it was good.

May 2026...I play off 11....fantastic course, hard at times, course in great condition, super layout, I thought very fair for a 16 man society, buggies were great, the greens were fast but fair, I would recommend any of the Arabella group courses. Great clubhouse and staff.
