There's a reason golf's biggest tournament has returned to The Belfry three times after impressing for the first time in 1985. The incredible Brabazon course is littered with iconic holes which make 18 holes here exciting, challenging and somewhat daunting.
So many magical memories have been created here and some of the most famous Ryder Cup moments reside on the turf at The Belfry, none less than Christy O’Connor's 2 iron onto the 18th back in 1989 or Nick Faldo's ace on the par-3 14th.

The Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa is undoubtedly one of the finest heathland courses in the United Kingdom, comparable to the Sunningdale Old Course for natural beauty at an inland golf course.
Widely renowned for its aggressive bunkering, the Hotchkin demands accuracy off the tee to gain any chance at a low score, those who do find the fairway will be rewarded with favourable approach shots. The English Golf Union adopting Woodhall Spa as their home speaks to the class of this British classic.

❝Make sure to leave a little time aside before your round to have a practice putt as the greens here are superb and you need to gauge their speed. On the Arden course put your driver away on the boomerang shaped sixteenth and try to leave an approach that does not require a shot over the water.❞

Sherwood Forest, which was founded in 1895, originally featured a course designed by Harry Colt. However, like many of the mature and esteemed golf layouts across the United Kingdom, it underwent modifications by James Braid. Interestingly, Braid held the belief that upon its completion, Sherwood Forest stood on par with any inland course in Britain.
In contrast to modern water hazards, the Championship Course showcases ninety-eight bunkers crafted from local sand and demands players to make long carries over extensive areas of heather.

The Hawkstone Course, consisting of 18 holes, served as a training ground for a young Sandy Lyle and offers a selection of exceptional holes. Of particular interest are the holes situated around the halfway mark, with standouts like the 12th hole, which creatively integrates the castle's moat.
The course has a nice balance to it being long enough to test even the best golfers but not too punishing on the more average player.
